I ran across campus to there house and knocked on the door. Mrs. Spencer answered and invited me in. We talked about why I wasn't at the came and if Old Thurmer had written to my parents yet. Then he went on to tell me how "Life is a game, boy, Life is a game one plays according to the rules." Then he started reading my paper. It was dreadful to listen to. I just wanted to get up and leave. Then he read out load the note that I put at the bottom of my paper for him. It went a little bit like:

"Dear Mr. Spencer, That is all I know about the Egyptians. I can't seem to get very interested in them although you lectures are very interesting. It is all right with me if you flunk me though as I am flunking everything else except English anyways. Respectfully yours, Holden Caulfield."

It killed me when he read it out loud. Finally I lied to him and told him I had to go finish packing some stuff up in the gym. Which is crazy seeing I have hardly ever been over there. I just couldn't stand look at him laying in bed anymore.
